Welcome to the Soil and Aqueous Biogeochemistry Research (SABR) Laboratory at Idaho State University
The Soil and Aqueous Biogeochemistry Research (SABR) Laboratory is led by Dr. Kathleen Lohse in the Department of Biological Science with joint appointment in the Department of Geosciences at Idaho State University and includes a diverse group of researchers who conduct interdisciplinary research to understand the hydrologic and biogeochemical processes shaping watersheds and their responses to anthropogenic changes. Increasingly, we are incorporating social processes into our conceptual and quantitative models to understand and predict these responses.
In this research, we use field and lab experiments to address research questions at the ecosystem scale, and environmental gradients and spatial modeling tools in geographic information systems (GIS) to extrapolate these results to the landscape scale.
Please feel free to explore our website to learn more about ongoing research projects and opportunities in the Lohse SABR lab.
